Rear End Gears
Does anyone have information on the rear end of the new Camaro? I think it is only available with a 3.42 or 3.45 limited slip. I see no option for taller gears, wanted 3.73, or maybe 4.10. Anybody familiar with this type of independent rear axle, hows the durability and performance. Thanks.

And when the 2011 comes out, will its 3.73 gears fit the 2010. I guess nobody will be able to answer that yet.

Someone at GM (embarrassingly, I forget the name) stated it stood up to 600-some-odd horse... We'll find out soon enough

actually i called Ms Cleo & asked her about it. she said thet within 6 months, the camaro will cheat on you, then come back & beg for forgiveness. don't accept it's apology even if it offers to let you have its rear end.

and there is no reason that the 3.73 gears wont fit. would be pretty silly to change the rearends and not have them compatible with each other

Nice I will probably swap my gears for 373 at the dealer for aftermarket ones anyway depending on cost

I fyou are worried about it have it done at a trusty shop and not by the dealer. The dealer would never know. The only way they could find this out would be to jack the ass end up and turn the wheel and count the rotations of the driveshaft....They wont do it.
