Tough to see, but the it is by far a much duller finish inside the engine bay then outside. My car was produced April '09.

It's a known fact that the early models were not done that way, owners started mentioning it was important at GM meetings with Camaro owners like we had here in Chicago and they listened and started painting them and clear coating them. I saw a few of them looking at mine at a National Car Show after I took it apart and had it repainted at a considerable cost back in 2010 !
