Double pivot front suspension....
When the 5th gen Camaro came out, it adopted a double pivot front suspension design. This is where there are two ball joints on the king pin. This design creates a virtual pivot point ahead of the wheel attachment point on the spindle. Even Ford changed to this design on the S550 Mustang in '15.
Can anyone explain why a double pivot front suspension is better than say the previous SLA (short long arm) that was on the 4th gen? I think it has something to do with tire scrub radius as the suspension compresses and rebounds, but I'm having trouble visualizing how that's better for handling. |

In theory, it moves the pivot point to the center of thee front tire contact patch.
