Unfortunately I dont see it happening the way they're talking about GM filing for Chapter 11 now.........although they ARE going ahead with the ZR1. All this GM sinking news had me looking at the new 2010 GT500....but if they actually made this thing........................

I wonder how bad I would get raped trading in a 2010 SS on a 2011-12 z28?

Seeing how a loaded 2SS/RS is about $38k,

Description Code Price
Camaro 2SS 1ET37 $34,180.00
Tremec TR6060 6-speed Manual Transmission MN6 $0.00
Black GBA $0.00
RS Package for SS WRS $1,200.00
20-inch Polished Aluminum Wheel Q9J $470.00
Black Leather SS Interior AFM $0.00
No Stripes --- $0.00
Power Sunroof with express open and venting CF5 $900.00
Vehicle Subtotal $36,750.00
Sales Tax (6.25%) $2,296.88
Total $39,046.88

I would expect this car, especially in limited production, to be priced in the high $50k to mid $60k. The base MSRP on the Caddy CTS-V is $63k.

Anyone considering installing the supercharger from the CTS-V (or something similar) on the SS? It will be a lot cheaper than a Z/28 if they ever come out. But Damn, that is a good looking car!

However you have your SS optioned out, I'd say add a good 12k to 17k on top of that for the price of a Z-28. If this car did come out, it would not be meant as a high volume car......kinda like the Cadi V's....how many are going to pay 50k plus for a Camaro?

Base CTS is more like $58k http://www.automotive.com/2009/12/ca...ing/index.html Unless you're including tax and what not, which is usually not included when you reference the "MSRP". This is why I think the MSRP of the z/28 could be under $50k. That is, if they ever build it.

And yes, lots of people are considering TVS and MagnaCharger superchargers for the LS3.

It would be nice to have a Z/28 but I know my limits! The SS will be more than enough to get me in lots of trouble. I won't cry if it doesn't happen but my gut tells me there will be Z/28's on the street eventually.

Well that does explain Bumblebee. Still don't like that hood on it. Lower front bumber looks nice with it being the same color instead of the black (BB).

Always take what you read in the car mags. with a "grain of salt".

I'll wait to hear it from GM. There are alot of "hurdles" GM has to clear before the possibility of a Z.

IMO, The Z-28 will make an appearance in the 2012 year if........ 1. The 2010 Camaro and 2011 Camaros are a hit and 2. Federal "Green regs" will not penalize GM for out a "gas-guzzler."

With all of the insiders on this site and the rampant media not posting spy shots, I have to burst your bubble here. This car has neither been tested nor designed for production. You'd figure that one slip would have happened by now, or that GM would be testing this car on a track where photographers would have seen some times a little faster than the SS numbers. The truth is that this is a photo that has been edited based upon designs from Transformers 2. It is a media writer promoting a rumor.

Who says gm has not tested it? It would have been a black with the autozone headlights. Although............... the supercharger could have problems fitting. Im going to hope.....................

I'll give you that it may have been tested on the streets, but where are the witnesses saying that they heard the supercharger whine? We were arguing about whether that was a V6 or a V8 in preproduction, and we heard about that supercharger that was supposedly under the hood of a car once. Since then, we haven't seen track numbers that beat the SS numbers, and we haven't seen any interior photos with a boost gauge. If there were a supercharger in the works, there are so many places we could look for evidence, but there just isn't any there.
