yea i think so too, sheesh man. go easy on the guy. besides thats no damage at all. you will put more wear on the clutch the first time you run her through the gears hard than that did anyway.

My Dad's been gone now for 8 yrs. I'd give anything for him to be able to get in my car and tear up the tires and break an axle or two!! Lord knows, I tore up a rear end or two and alot of sets of tires in his vehicles, being stupid in high school. He also took the time to teach me how to rebuild what I tore up. Man I sure do miss him!!

I can understand where you're coming from, but I don't think it's worth losing any sleep over. One of the first things I wanted to do was take my dad out in my new camaro. I was actually sad when he wouldn't take the keys. He can drive it any time he wants, as far as I'm concerned.

Lighten up Francis !
If all of our parents acted like this none of us would be driving ! A couple of missed gears is not going to kill your engine, unless maybe he drops it into 1st from 6th at 145 ! But simply lugging the engine a little won't harm a thing. Keep in mind that this man most likely trusted you with the family car (and his life ) when you had absouletly NO driving experience and most likely did it with a smile.

God, if my father only knew what I did to HIS CARS! (Especially when I was first driving!).
Cut him some slack, realize that some day your son may ask you to drive his new ride and you may not do it as perfect as he would like. Now go in peace, the world has not ended. KJS
