My Camaro at Nurburgring

Took my 1ss to 'The Green Hell' as it is known or The Nurburgring,to the rest of us.
This was my first visit and boy,did the first lap scare the shit out of me or what?I paid 75 Euros/$100 for a four lap stint and that first lap was like being sent into a forest, with a blindfold on at a speed you knew you should'nt be doing, but did'nt want to look a Tit.
In short, after the first lap (13 miles!) i had to come in and feel terra firma under my feet and stop my hands and body trembling. It was like a massive roller coaster, the trouble was it was me driving,my car and i had little or no idea where it was going next, and had to constantly watch where i'd been,as well as where i was going,in order to get out of the way of some seriously fast, locals.
On the third lap i stopped in the 'Pits' and took my son round, which did seem a little odd, until i saw a family go out after me,complete with Dog.
I hopefully did'nt disgrace myself or the car by doing a 12 Minute lap, though it did piss me,when i got passed by a 2008 GT500.
How people go round there in Sub 10 minutes,i will never know, though i do know,i would'nt want to be with them!

THe GT500 was being chased by an equally quick Merc',driven by people who knew their way round.Lets face it,one of those drivers could knock 2 minutes a lap off my time,in my car as it is,(DT Shorties,NOweeds Ex Div',Solo Axle Back,Pfadt lowering springs and a shit load of adrenaline.)Octane i was buying was 98,at 1.34 a litre, whatever that equates to.

It was obviously such a major experience,i felt the need to beat someone on the way home.Only trouble was, i had to see 145 on my speedo' to do that.(No Shit)
And no,i have no idea what was stuck up my exhaust pipe,to 'make' me do it.

Good for you going out and trying it!

Who cares if you werent the fastest car. You dont know the track so its a whole lot better to not drive faster than you are comfortable with and ending up with a wrecked car. I so wish I could I could run that track!!

I don't want to make you feel less of a man Albion, but Jeremy on Top gear did it in under 10 minutes in a deisel Jag.(That was his eleventyith try. His first was 11 and change). Just tugging your leg because I am massivly jealous and would love to drive that thing. I wish we had something like that, or even 1/10 that more often here around us more often.
