I agree with you for sure.....my buddy just installed BBK longtubes and then took it in for a tune....maybe drag radials as well. We decided to wait for his tune to be done before heading to the track....hopefully get there soon. Im interested to see how his header and tune mods stack up against my 3200 stall and drag radial upgrades. Should be fun.

I'm betting it'll be real close. I ran 11.9 with headers tune and intake. And ran 11.5 once I added the converter to the Mustang. I'm betting on a converter automatic every time though.

Well Im hoping the stall and drag radials put me out in front for good. He needs drag radials and I think he may be convinced to get them. We just havnt had time or weather to hit the track...but when we do it will be recorded.

If he's going to run street tires, he's gonna lose, and badly vs you. From a roll, it will be close with him possibly coming out on top. I can say if you can talk to your tuner and have him tweak the tune for converter lockup from 4th onward at wot, that will help you as well. You can only do that though if your converter is a multi plate style. If it is a single, forget about it.

So basically we have to mod the heck out of our cars to keep up with mostly stock 5.0's.

I find all of this pretty funny! I was a mustang guy in the 4.6 days and this is the same way the mustang guys felt from like 1994-2011. Itís good to see that the mustang is a legit rival now on the streets and track. Itís good for both companies.

Agreed both companies push each other. With the exception of the 16-17 6th gen its been a drivers race in a straight line since 2011. The mustang answered right back in 18 to make it a drivers race again. Im sure it will remain this way with both going back and forth.

Few days ago raced a 2013 5.0 with intake, cai, cat delete muffler. Auto and Tuned
I have airaid cai, tsp lt headers and x pipe Dyno tune M6

We did 40 roll both nick and nick but i start to pull on 4th. Lots wheel spin 2nd gear.

Mustang owner told me says if i had better grip it would be a different race.

But those 5.0 are fast, we all talk shit about Mustangs but fact is a fact.

I'll be honest I own a 16 mustang gt auto 3.55 gears. All I have done is our tune which is a flex tune and driveshaft swap along with our cold air. I ran a 12.3. Most 5th gens I beat unless they have like cam and heads or a blower. Which is why my cousin sold his and got the zl1 so he can beat me again lol. Have fun guys
