dont know if you guys can see this but i took the bolt out of the pulley and the broken tab that it mounted to and found a longer bolt that would go through spring section and broken section to get me home, hope that made sence

so another factory tensioner broke on me this weekend .edelbrock sent me a new one the last time no questions asked and said it was a bad casting.the belt that was on my car was a season old and I noticed at high rpm my boost was erratic so I installed new belt to stop the slipping.1st run just pulled out of waterbox and was heating things up and it let go.dont know if its because my motor revs so fast with light weight flywheel, boost etc or what but the stock tensioner just cant handle it.it looks like it hits the stop and pulls through it.this time I hand built a manual one out of aluminum hope it works better.just so we are clear, this isn't a bash against the e force system,i have not had any other problems with the kit ,it works flawlessly and makes good power(630 rw)I just wonder if im the only one that has had this problem

I don't know about the Camaro kits, but for the Corvette kit, Edelbrock recently came out with a new design tensioner and sent me one for free, although I have never had issues with the first one. Then new one is bigger and looks stronger.

Same problem.

I only have a few hundred miles on my current setup, and I'm on my 3rd tensioner. I do have the innovators 8 rib pulleys w/10% od. ~14-15 psi. It only seems to happen when I beat the car hard (every time I drive it). The tensioner dosent break every time, but at very least it tgrows the belt. Did anyone come to any conclusions? I know for a fact that the tensione is dayco only. No one else makes a cross to it. Any info would be appreciated.

i got a new tensioner from edelbrock. nothing wrong with mine other than the two pulleys on the tensioner are a little loose. bad/worn bearings maybe. tje new tensioner doesnt come with an idler pulley though. can i just get the same pulley at a parts store i wonder?

for anyone that cares still, the new kit is machined like garbage. had to put washers behind the bracket on the water pump so it would sit flush. and then im about to put the tensioner in and realize is doesnt sit right either. the little set screw on the back that keeps it in place is too small for the hole....lovely.

im making up a little presentation to edelbrock and emailing it to them. ill post it here too. they should make an 8 rib kit with beefier parts themselves if theyre really all about performance

Are you sure you are not doing something wrong ? Granted, I have a vette which is not the same, but have friends with eforce Camaros. Never seen these issues. I over spin mine with the smallest pulley they make, and have never seen slip or had tensioner issues.
ATI and Innovators West both make 8 rib kits for the eforce if you want to go that route.

the old tensioner was fine. this new bracket isn't machined properly. ill post some pics in a bit here.

im wondering if the problems with them breaking are due to too tight of a belt? and if its the bracket breaking i can see why. ill show that in some pics too. edelbrock is telling me they recommend a 104.5" with any smaller than stock pulley, even down to the 2.75". although this new tensioner sits higher than the old one so a longer belt is necessary. but I asked the question of belt size before and many forum users recommended a 102.5". I have a 102.5 and im not even gonna attempt it. im gonna get a 104" if they have one
