Picked up a 370Z as a more fun daily driver
I wanted something more fun as a daily driver. Checked out the Mustang and it was "OK" but not exactly what I was looking for. The lack of paddles on the auto was a turn off and I don't want a manual trans car to deal with in rush hour traffic.
Had been looking for a 370z for about 6 mos and came across one exactly like I wanted for a steal. Made a low ball offer on this 2009 Touring Sport with NAV, illuminated kick plates, Bose stereo with dual subs, etc and the dealer came back within $180 of my offer and threw in a 100K mile 74 mos bumper to bumper warranty. It drives great, I'm averaging 24MPG, and the power has been very surprising. Car weighs 3300lbs and has 332 horses. The trans is a 7 speed and the shifting with the paddles makes for kidney punching shifts. Very firm and quick. It drives like a go kart which took some getting used to. I'd say 1-1.5 turns of the steering wheel and it's at full lock to lock. Took it to the drag strip this past weekend along with the Challenger. My goal was a 12.90 and it ran a 13.080 at 105.14 BONE STOCK on the street tires. I kept spinning on the 1-2 shift, so if the track had been a bit better I'd have hit 12s pretty easy. It hit a best MPH of 108.18. Last edited by Speedy1975; 03-13-2012 at 02:12 PM. |

That is one nice daily driver!! The Z was my second option when I was car shopping, but the 'new car' price was just a few grand more than I wanted to spend at the time.

Nice ride Speedy.....
You should have some reliable fun..... My 2003 350Z is still going strong after all these years. Good luck with it.....and if you mod that thing with a turbo....they fly...ask me how I know

Nice! I wanted a white 370z before I got the Camaro, but I ended up getting the SS instead. Sweet pick up!

Thanks folks. I've got the supercharged Challenger, and supercharged 4Runner....I'm gonna TRY not to turbo this thing LOL.
Brand new I think they're too pricey, but I found this one with only 2,900 miles on it...that's not a typo, 2,900. Never titled. Nissan corporate is local and they had it for their execs to drive when in town, so it never got driven. Got it for about $16K off what a brand new one would have been ($5K under KBB) so it was a steal. |

If I ever bought a Japanese car it would be a Z. I really like the new body style.
Years ago I knew a couple guys who took older ones (240s I believe) and put Corvette engines and transmissions in them and made them very nasty street cars. |

Wow... First time I see the interior of one of these...
Looks a lot more fussy than the 350Z from what I remember... But congrats on the new car |

Congrats on the car! Very nice.
That power, with that transmission, and with that weight is why I so look forward to the next gen Camaro. V6 Camaro in the 3,400lb range could be in the mid to mid-upper 13s stock (don't expect them to give it as aggressive gearing as the Z) and in the low 13s and high 12s with resonable bolt ons.
