I had two, one was my first car a 72 Mustang I bought in 84 when I got out of HS. It had a 302 v-8 . . actually a v-7 , found out after changed the plugs the first time it had one dead cylinder, it could go through snow like crazy but started costing a (blank) load of money: 1)timing chain went, 2)water pump, then the transmission, along with the body. Started to do the body work on it and found out why it was so good in snow, the fenders were pack full of sand so at one time it had to of been under water.
Number 2 was a new 93 Dakota, shoulda got frequant flyer miles for as much as it was on the lift, truck went through seals an gaskets like they were going out of style, had to replace the rear diff cause the gears weren't lined up right, replaced the inside carpet twice due to water leakes, luckly all covered under warranty which seriously PO'd the dealer But I should say neither vehicle was abused by me, just my luck? to get them

My moms old 1985(ish) Dodge Caravan comes to mind.

It would break down every time we drove it for over an hour and a half. Yep...we'd go on trips to Corpus Christi and expect it to break down on the way....just pull off to the side, let it sit for a while, start it back up, and drive on.

Mom took it into the dealer and believe it or not, the COULD NEVER figure out what the problem was....increadible. I felt so bad for her...she wanted the best for us and even got the damn thing for better safety in haulin' the boys around. Then, the damn thing gets us stranded on the side of the road all the time??? Peice of crap.

Other than that, I was spending about $300 a month on keeping my 1990 Chevy 1500 running. That thing was a peice. It was an old work truck...and boy had it been worked. I finally got the 1998 S-10 to replace it....AND actually saved money with the new truck not having to put any work into it, vs that truck which I was working on weekly!

I had a '93 Ford Aspire, talk about a piece of crap. I only owned for a year, but that was way to long.

Not even trying to be funny by saying this, but I know it will come off that way.

My friend has a Honda something or other with the Vtech and what not. It is the biggest piece of shit to drive. Totally un-responsive steering. Shifting is shady at best. It feels like it runs on a Maytag or Whirlpool washer.

I would seriously rather drive a fiesta.

The worst car I ever owned was an 87 Escort. First of all, it had those automatic shoulder belt things that were noisy and just annoying. Not to mention that they were completely useless without the lap belt, which you had to buckile yourself. And the tach needle (a tach on an Escort? honestly) jumped around like it wasn't on properly or not.

But the worst car I ever drove was a mid 80's Ford EXP I drove while I was looking for my first car (see above). I don't know about how the other EXPs drove, but this thing was totally screwed up. It had a solid paint job and looked relatively sporty for a 16 year old (I was a Chevy man even then, but I'd just wrecked my dad's truck and he needed something to drive to work pretty quick). The dash was hacked and had a supersized Dodge stereo somehow mounted in it, but the engine and suspension were HORRIBLE. This thing rattled, the steering wheel shook, it took 45 minutes to get up to speed, and it smoked like a chimney. After my dad and I got back to the lot we just kind of threw the keys at the salesman and tore out of there.

Worse car eh? i've only got 1 complaint, i'll take all the cars mentioned above (exept that mini van tag :P), it was the second car i ever owned, i was 18 fresh out of high school and working full time now (Now barely getting back into school) so there i was at a used car dealership, i caught a glimpse of a chrysler concorde, it looked good, i took it for a test drive, seemed normal so i went ahead and got it...little did i know that if i went over 50 mph it'd turn off...fow how long? i didnt care to find out, that car cost my my decent job at a factory that had great benefits and had stock sharing...i dont know how that worked but i had it, but i never fuond out, i went to the dealer and told him to pick up his piece of crap..oddly he didnt hesitate to give me a exachnge..he knew he sold me garbage, so even now new or used..i will NEVER buy a chrysler.

NEVER!!

I used to work at a garage so I don't remember them all so I'll limit to own personal vehicles and one select vehicle from the garage;

My own
1976 Granada - it was even rotted on the tops of the fenders
1977 Newport - another rot box, rear springs were so bad the bumper practically dragged the ground

Else
At the garage mentioned above we had a car wash. There was a lady who was afraid to go through it so she would ask one of us to drive it through. It's was a mid 80s Nova (the little front drive 4 cylinders). I will NEVER EVER forget the smell inside that car. I will also NEVER EVER be able to identify it. It was like a combination of every single body odor you can think of all rolled into one. To this day, I've never smelled anything like it.

Suffice to say, I only drove it through once. I thought about rolling down the windows. After that one time, I would literally disappear when I saw her car approaching. There was usually some new guy or someone not paying attention that would get stuck with her. Uhh, I'm reliving the smell right now. And this was 15-20 years ago.

Not positive of the year. I believe it was something between '86-'88 Ford Escort Wagon.

I had to drive it for a delivery job I had for a month. That thing had NO pick up whatsoever. As someone else said before me, no stopwatch needed, just a calendar. LOL

As much as I dislike my Aveo, it's nowhere near as bad as that Escort...

I guess I should add the last generation of Lancer. I just remembered how awful those seats were when I had to drive from Lawrence to St. Louis. My back hurts thinking about the ride. Additionally, the engine was probably measured in hamsterpower instead of horsepower. That thing was weak!
