whistling noise over 70mph

Hello. I'm new to the forum and recently bought my first Camaro. the 2010. There is as whistling noise while once 70mph is reached. It continues through 80,90. I think it eventually goes away with enough speed. Any ideas for the cause? solution? Thanks.

Where is the whistling coming from? Windows, engine, tranny, tires?

Can't say that I have experienced a whistling noise other than a similar noise from the AC at high RPM's referenced in another thread.

I have the exact same problem. Do you have an M6?
Mine starts at 69 mph and gets worse as I go faster. If I push in on the clutch or let off the gas it disappears. I posted this problem a couple weeks ago after an 800 mile trip and one of the guys had a similar problem and it was diagnosed as a resonance issue in the transmission. Dealer fixed it by putting in a new transmission.
I've been working a lot lately and haven't had a chance to take it in, but I will let you know what they say if I do.

Mine is doing the exact same thing and it annoys the heck out of me. Sounds like it's coming from the gearbox. (This is definitely not the side mirror whistle). Really bad at 75. firefighterEMT33 do you rmember the guy who had his transmission replaced due to this? I've put a couple of posts out about this but no bites. Glad to hear someone else is experiencing it.

So is this normal or an issue?

Mine sounds fine <75mph

I have 2500 miles on it.

The user's name is "JSC81." The thread I started on this was titled "High pitched noise."

Not a ton of info in there, but he does give the number to the dealership that he worked with if yours wants to call and reference with them.

At that speed, are you sure it isn't a siren? Look for the blinky red/blue lights in your mirror next time, explains why it goes away when you go faster too. LOL. Wouldn't that be funny?

LOL! Thanks for the responses. It seem like it may be coming from the trunk area, but it's hard to tell. I think I may have read about floor mats that reduce road noise. Thanks again for the info and the laughs!
