If you can't wait use a 2" hole saw from Lowes/Home Depot ($8) to core it out. Then borrow a reciprocating saw or buy one and make 2 cuts 1/2"-1" apart. Go very slow, checking often, and face the cuts towards the body of the pumpkin in case you get overzealous and cut into the aluminum. When you get close use a chisel or the biggest flathead you have and smack the piss out of the center between the 2 cuts with that and a hammer. Smooth any burs in the aluminum and then put the new ones in.

This is mostly what i did today.. Lol just didnt work o well for me. Was trying to fold it...and that didnt work

As long as you push them the opposite way of the lip they should pop right out. I suppose you could make another cut at a 180 and then it'll just fall in half.
