Not carbon fiber Can you wax?
I have my carbon fiber insert with the factory black non print thru finish. Can this finish be waxed?

I wouldn't - it would more than likely be shiny afterwards.

The original matte black inserts should NOT be waxed.

Use painter's tape to cover it while you wax the rest of the car. Care instructions for that particular piece should be in the owner's manual somewhere.

If it is, indeed, a 2012 matte black insert: DO NOT WAX IT. You'll ruin the finish.
