Interesting Article Worth Checking Out
I found this article on "Camaros as investments" very interesting, especially as it pertains to the 5th Gen. Thought you might as well. Thoughts?

I'm surprised the 3rd gen Camaros were on the list to hold and buy.

Good stuff. While I don’t see cutting a fat hog in my lifetime on my ‘last of the gen’ 2015, I’m encouraged that it has some staying power.

Well its nice to see on paper, but in reality no car is a real investment. The best you can hope for is moderate to slow depreciation. If you hold onto a car for a very long time and keep your expenses low, you could come close to breaking even if it appreciates a little bit. Appreciation is a very hard goal for today's cars due to the glut of cars on the market.

I'm surprised by the advice to sell a 1969 Z/28. I figured these cars will always appreciate in value.
I understand buying a 3rd gen Z/28 and IROC-Z. When was the last time you saw a true, clean, unmolested 3rd gen? If you can find a real clean Z/28 or IROC-Z, the value is definitely there.

I believe it'll suffer the same stagnation as the C4 Corvette. Quote:

With the onset of electric cars it will be even more interesting to see if values of old cars go up or down.
The cars to buy might be those with little or no technology, much easier to keep running and on the road in the future. |

Agreed, as forced obsolescence is on the horizon.

I agree w LimaCharlie.....hard to believe that the values of 1st gen. are going to go down. I think the 69s are going to be the 1932 Ford hot rods of our generation
