I just use the manual seat adjuster thingy (thats a technical term) for the passenger seat to hold mine. Works with no mods needed!

Amen.

OP, you could probably take your cardboard template and apply its construction to kydex, then bake and mold to form the gun. I've seen some tutorials online, and many of my fellow shooters build their own kydex gear at home. I imagine it'll take some effort, but you could have your own kydex center console holster.

I keep my XD45 in the pouch behind the passenger seat. no one ever rides in the back and it is readily accessable.
Same place I keep my H&K!

I use the Passenger Seat Pocket for mine. It is concealed and easy to get to.

I'm betting a belt-clipped Kydex holster could work too. Drill a couple holes in the clip and do the zip-tie thing.

Can you help me with designing a holster for my bazooka? Just in case I get the urge to blow something up.
