A short while ago, we brought you the first look at the GT1 Commemorative Edition '09 Corvette, when it was introduced at the 12 Hours of Sebring.

Now here's a closer look at this limited edition Vette's distinctive trimmings and details.

Available in 45U Velocity Yellow (with black headlamps) or 41U Black Specific VIN sequences: 300001 series for 45U Velocity Yellow represents the #3 Corvette C6.R, while the specific VIN sequence 400001 series for 41U Black represents the #4 Corvette C6.R Production limited to 100 per each color and body style combination (600 total).

Coupe and convertible versions also include the Z51 Performance Package and NPP Performance Exhaust Optional MX0 6-speed paddle shift automatic on coupe and convertible, optional C2L dual roof package on coupe and optional U3U Navigation System on all models.

In addition you also get the Z51 Performance Package and NPP Performance exhaust on non-ZO6 versions. Do you even know why they made these options available and what it's significance is? Do you know what "Jake" represents?

Yes Corvette Racing.....The automaker has decided a special edition is in order to celebrate the the entry of the Corvette C6.R into the GT1 class of ALMS this year. Based off of your choice between the Corvette Coupe 4LT, Convertible 4LT or Z06, the 2009 Corvette GT1 Championship Edition comes swathed in the same yellow hue that adorns the C6.R or "41U" black, along with a "Jake" graphic that spans the Championship edition's hood.
