Hard Decision- Camaro vs. Vette
So I am not posting this to complain about the price of a Camaro (you've got to pay to play) but with the discounts on Vettes I am really torn. I just priced out the Camaro I want and it came to about $40k.
I have been following this car forever but have always wanted a Vette. I am 23, single and do not necessarily have to have a backseat. I have read that you can get new Vettes for 38k (would like to see where!). How can I pass up that kind of price on the Vette? Convince me! I know that either way I can't lose. |

Hello!
|
First...if you are paying $40K for a Camaro, I think you may have spent too much! I mean unless you got the 21 inch wheels, body kit, all the GMPP parts and a few sets of stripes for you Camaro...worst case scenario for a nicely loaded Camaro SS, $36K!
Also...if you did get all that stuff for $40K, then you'll not get a Vette with the same equipment for $38K! Not even close....you'll get the LS3, but not much else! I'm not sure what to tell you but in all honesty...I, well, I don't know? Just, well, have fun I guess with whatever choice you make...sure would like to see pics once the decision is made! |

Hello!

BA and connectvity package come with the 2SS...strips, sunroof and shifter are extra.
Still rather high I'd say...not sure what is running the price up...I have those other than sunroof and I didn't pay that... |

Maybe I messed up with taxes but thats still looking at least 37k. Either way, almost Vette territory.

legend the 2SS starts at 34,9 your configuration is like 37, 8 without tax title license so how do you figure 40 is too much??

get a camaro!! Its going to be a head turner. I would only get the vette if I could afford the Z06 or even better the ZR1

One other thing I should mention is that I could use my college grad discount on the Vette and I probably can not (at least right away) on the Camaro.

Hello!
|
I guess I just got a good deal then...I didn't pay anywhere near $38K for mine.
Tax, title and license will be cash for me since I can't see financing that stuff as I never have. Maybe they are up there and I just got a good deal... |

No Corvette is stripped. 1LT models do not have side air bags. That stops me. Boardwalk Chevy in Cali. EDIT: I should add, these two cars are so different. You would be well served to wait until you can try both, and then decide.

If they're both about the same price then you need to ask yourself....Am I feeling lucky? Wait-no....
You can probably flip back and forth forever with this. It narrows down to one question.. Do you want a Corvette? Or do you want a Camaro? The performance between the two...I dunno....if Chevy delivers, it's going to be crazy close. So, personally, that wouldn't be a factor for me I guess. |
