What exactly are you asking about? For warranty a dealer has to prove the bad parts are because of your added mods, but for CA smog I can tell you that every part on that list is pretty much illegal and won't pass smog, with the exception of brake upgrades. Be more specific for the parts... If you meant is a tune going to affect warranty the answer is yes it can, not necessarily that it will. It will also affect smog

So I put the Vitesse throttle controller (VTC) on it and the CAI from CAI inc. is in the mail right now. I know the VTC helps it off the line and the CAI will up the horses about 16 and make it sound meaner. After these 2 things, can I do anything to my 6 to help the engine performance? I don't want a nitrous system and I'm pretty sure new exhaust will only change the sound more. Can I do anything else?

VMax Black Iceolator, Long Tube Headers, Hi Flow Cats, Tune and prolly Cams if you wanted to go extra. Aside from those not to many others outside of FI applications i'd work on your suspension so you can get that power to the pavement a bit more stable aswell. Wheel hop with the VTC is a bitch sometimes but my area suffers from alot of pot holes to.

For my LLT drivers. Are shorty headers worth it ? I'm running the ark n2 exhaust and I know if I get long tubes the rasp will be pretty nasty. The n2 has 2.75 pipes throughout and the magnaflow xpipe is only available to 2.5. So i would need to have the whole set up custom which won't come cheap.
With shorty headers the rasp won't be horrible and might even deepen the note. But sacraficing HP.

I just got a set of Doug Thorly Shorty headers. They will get installed on Wednesday, the gains will proably be minimal, but I figure it will sound really good.

Sorry for the late reply. Been busy with school. I like them pretty good. I still want the car to be louder. I was going to ask those on here how long it takes for headers to break in. I've put 1,200 miles on them since installed. I'm pondering a resonator delete, maybe even getting the rear cats cut out.

They are broke in...don't expect them to get louder.

If you want a decent uptick in loudness and "growl" a resonator delete won't cut it. Leave them on.

I'd either cut off, or gut the rear cats as you suggested. This should make the shorty headers sound even more mean and since you are only messing with the rear cats, it shouldn't cause a check engine light due to the rear 02 sensors (assuming you aren't tuned already)

I'm not tuned at the moment. I'm was just pondering what would it sound like if I put glass packs in place of the rear cats? Has anyone done this before?

Doug Thorley shorty headers and flotube exhaust did the trick on mine. Initial startup and when you get on it sound down right mean
