Hurst shifter install in the M6

Thought the install wasnt going to involve loosing the trans bolts? did something change?

On all my posts i said that you do loosen the trans bolts, It has not changed at all.

Looks like the pics in the install directions were done using a hoist, how much more difficult do you think it will be using jack stands and crawling under the car on the ground?

Not a lot more, But do it when the car is cold.
One more thing it my go faster as you don't have to lower the car 2-3 times like we did.

Does it actually need to be on stands? Is that for clearance only? Can it be driven up on ramps?

Put mine in today. Took about 2 hours and that was taking a couple breaks in between. The car just needs to be high enough to work under (in the trans tunnel). The throw of the shifter is much shorter than the stock one!
