305 Square anyone running them

I'm starting to think about my next set of tires. I currently run (for the track) NT01 285/35-20's.

I was thinking about going to a slightly wider tire, hoping for a little more traction. I'm staying with the OE wheels.

I saw some older threads about running 305's but haven't seen anything recent on the subject.

Any input would be appreciated.

I think you will find that the 10 inch front rim is to narrow for a 305 tire.

I have been curious on this too. According to Tire Rack the PS4 lists a 10.5" minimum wheel width, would that 1/2" really matter? Was planning on calling the rack but I am not ready to buy till spring.

Your perfamce of the tires would be comprimised. The sidewall would be rolled in, just what you don't want at the track. It would be hard to find a store to mount them, just for warranty sake.

I bought my Car and it has 305 on the rear. handles just fine for me. I have not taken to the track yet though. Here are some pics of the looks. Of coarse i'm assuming you have the black wheels for it? (This is a question for sure)

I'm going down this road too for track use, not sure yet what wheels / tires or size yet, but basically, as big as can reasonably fit on an 18 or 19x?? wheels.

Will be making some calls tomorrow to pick the brains of some folks that have first hand experience with the gen5 and know how to spec the wheels properly etc.

Thanks for the feed back.

I'm still hoping there is someone out there that has run this and can provide input based on their experiences.

I have read you can get away with a 295-35 up front but have not tryed myself, 305 would probably not work.

19x11 305 square no problem...I'm doing exactly this for this coming season of HPDE. They've run larger tires as well. There is a point at which you'll need (more) adjustable camber if you're going wide in the front.

Yeah, I hadn't heard of vorshlag, but seems like they know which way is up.
