They sold their Equifax and probably bought LifeLock!

Looks like their site has a update regarding some of our questions. No charge after free year. No waiver of legal action, among others. Click link on sherob's OP and it now goes straight to that.

Great, you have credit monitoring for a year. If I were someone that just hacked or purchased the information, I would wait 13 months before using that information.
This is messed up. All three of us, even my 17yo daughter got compromised, and she has no credit yet. Now I get to pay Lifelock x3 people for life.

As they say on their site... No one can prevent all identity theft. † LifeLock does not monitor all transactions at all businesses.

So I assume you have to call each one separately to do this? Do you ask to have your credit locked? And do you keep it locked indefinitely? Thanks.

dont know why 'signing up' is even required. The agencies should just do it in the first place. Contact you if something needs approval... |

Thanks, I appreciate that. Of course the other two work easy to freeze, but Equifax says system error, try again later. Go figure!

Well, I applied for an equity line of credit (which I did only because of this stupid Equifax).....I don't need anything more...I'm done...
So, after my loan was approved, I froze all three credit reports....doubt I'll ever need to unfreeze them...Freezing was somewhat of a hassle....no two of the three did it exactly the same....ten bucks each for Transunion and Experian, no charge from Equifax... Pin and account numbers to un-freeze must be kept in a safe place. Losing or misplacing those will really be a hassle if you decide to unfreeze... Good luck to all....keep an eye on your existing accounts. Last edited by 90503; 10-06-2017 at 09:13 PM. |
