Let's go Rangers!

I ordered Adams Glaze and Americana yesterday from GPC
I cannot wait to get this as I’ve read great things about the Americana wax. Can someone please clarify the difference between the Americana and the Buttery wax (I currently use).
Also, what is the average longevity of the Americana. |

Not sure of exact numbers but the Americana will definitely outlast the Buttery Wax.. here's a recent pic after I did BG and AW...

I just switched to the Americana after picking some up from GPC at there Annual Detail clinic last month. It lasts longer than the Buttery wax. Also I feel it brings out a more deeper shine. You will love it and GPC is the best for your ADAM's products. They are fast on getting your order to ya.

Just did my 2010 yesterday and it definately "pop" more than the Buttery Wax when used with the Glaze. The Glaze will surprise you a bit. It goes on like water, but does hardent to a hazy glaze that wipes off pretty easy. It should be really easy to see on your car though. I had a hard time seeing in the garage unless I looked on an angle into the light. I sealed the day before, then glazed and Americana'd.
The Americana really is an easy product to use and the depth vs the Buttery is noticible.

The difference comes down to quality of ingredients... the carnauba used in Buttery is a pretty common one, reinforced with some polymers. It doesn't have a ton of durability, but it does go on/come off really easy. So applying a fresh coat every 2-3 washes isn't a big deal. Its really forgiving stuff, allowing you to apply even in direct sun without much degradation to the performance. Americana uses the absolute highest grade of brazilian carnauba available. It will last much longer than buttery plus provide a deeper/wetter looking gloss. The application is a little more intensive, but still easy. Be sure to only wax 1-2 panels at a time then remove - don't treat the whole car then come back. It will be hard to remove. Also be sure to apply to cool panels. Car looks good! Love those wheels! |

Forgive me if i'm wrong, but doesn't Carnuba wax evaporate in high climate temperatures in about a month? I was told if you live in the south , it's best to use a synthetic wax for longer protection

It certainly doesn't last as long as synthetic sealants, but carnuabas offer a very characteristic look that you can't really replicate with a sealant. It's also a good idea to layer a carnuaba over a sealant to get an even different look as the warmth of the wax plays with the dripping wet shine of the sealant. Not to mention, you're adding another layer of protection.
