First 2016 COPO Camaro will be auctioned off (auctioned for $300k)!
The first 2016 COPO Camaro will go under the auctioneer’s hammer as Chevrolet has said it will participate in the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona on January 29th.
The particular unit that will go under the hammer during the event is the one-off model that debuted at SEMA last year in November and bears the 2016COPO001 serial number. The vehicle comes nicely equipped with the Red Hot exterior with graphics that pay tribute to NHRA Funny Car driver Courtney Force. That’s because of course the COPO Camaro was researched and developed to take part in the NHRA Stock Eliminator class – it packs under that seemingly bulging hood a 350 racing engine that boasts a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger. There are no performance details as of yet apart from the automaker commenting the engine has been mated to a THM-350 automatic transmission. With drag racing in mind, the COPO Camaro has a chrome-moly roll cage and lightweight racing seats with five-point harnesses. The drivers will also take advantage of the adjustable front suspension, adjustable coilovers, and solid rear axle. We also remember it sporting high-performance brakes, a race-spec chassis, and a fuel cell with an integrated high-pressure fuel pump. The auction proceeds from the sale of the first 2016 Copo Camaro will go to the United Way which seeks to “create community solutions that improve life for everyone.”

A buddy of mine has a Supercharged 15 and a naturally aspirated 13. Hasn't raced either and I'm guessing 1/2 million will be about right for the 16. Hope it does more for the cause

I wonder what the HP#'s are on that thing?
I think GM should have put some kind of black mess grill on the hood where you can see through to the CAI. Other than that the car looks great.
