Another LLT camaro bites the dust

Well my friends, looks like another LLT Camaro bits the dust due to engine failure. I was driving to work Monday morning and started hearing the loud "bagging/ tapping" sound coming from the car. No sooner than I start to pull over that the check engine light came on and the car dead and did not re-fire. Got it to my local shop that repaired my head gasket inAugust and asked him to have a look, but I kinda knew from the sound what it was. Well !!!! got that wonderful phone call and to sum it up, the car had threw a lower rod and metal debris are in the oil. My wonderful 2011 213k mileage Camaro is dead, and i'm off looking for a new car. At this point, just going to bring it home and maybe turn it into a project car or something, don't really want to put another V6 LLT motor in again (maybe GM made updates in later engines).

213,000 miles is pretty damn good for most all gas vehicles. Sucks for your loss though.

Such a shame. I am scared I am driving a ticking timebomb. Been debating about trading my car in . It is nice not having a car payment.

you figure even if you put 6 grand into a new engine that would be cheap for another 200k miles.is the rest of the car in good shape?why not invest in what you have and daily driver it?

update: After thinking about it for a few more days I'm getting the car towed back home and covering her up until next year, find me a nice shop and place a new engine in, and since i'm already spending 6k on the thing might as well put in some turbos, redo the seats, repaint the front buffer (fix little odd and ends) , etc. I think the old girl and enjoy a extended vacation.
