Arrow CAI Comparison at LMR Dyno day

I had the opportunity to test Hennessey vs. LMR CAIs yesterday at the LMR Open House & Dyno event. When the LMR techs opened my hood it was easy to read their lips "Hennessey" as they saw my CAI. Of course comparing the two took about 5 seconds to agree on...

- (L99) The temps, as you can see were high, and my car had been sitting for 3hrs prior to Run#1. We made 2 pulls with each CAI installed. Only other mod is Corsa Catback... Stock Tune... This dyno sheet shows the best run for each CAI.

- Results: Gained 7.5 power and 14 torque with the LMR CAI. I'd say at least 15rwhp over the stockbox..

- Hennessey had the 1st 2 runs with the only delay between runs 3 & 4 being the swap out time.

- Definitely didn't want to remove HP from my car so LMR stays under the hood.

HUGE THANKS to Steven and crew. They really busted their collective A$$es yesterday and put on a first class event...

Only you... good stuff!
Shame I just missed your runs.
Did run in to Chris H when I got there.

You are giving up on the HPE build now...?

I must have just missed you and Chris by minutes. Was headed out to the Astros game and couldn't hang any longer. I'm really anxious to see Chris' numbers but I guess you guys showed up a bit late. We'll get it on the dyno soon...

Not giving up just yet... this was small stuff, but a pretty cool comparison.

This looks a bit fishy to me. Why was the dyno graph printed in STD and not SAE? Why was there only 11% humidity in the dyno cell when it is usually 60-80% humidity in Houston. I will believe it when there is some independent test data.

By the way, just so I am clear about my perspective, I have the Hennessey intake kit on my SS and I love the sound, performance and look. I am also running about 575 rw hp with their blower kit and a few other tweaks. I just think a plastic cold air kit looks cheap like stock. So I will say that I am biased.

Definitely no bias with me, I'm pretty happy with both shops and have been a big Hennessey supporter... (check my posts) Humidity for yesterday afternoon was in the low 30s around the time of this run. So inside 11% sounds about right with a little A/C.

I also have no problem reproducing the results on an independant dyno. There were a lot of people watching this one pretty close so if magic was done they are pretty good. I'm not sure how STD vs SAE would make a difference. I could use some educating in that area....

Like I said this is small stuff... your chrome blower probably does look better with a Hennessey CAI. I'm kind of thinking the Carbon Fiber look is going to match up nice when I get finished painting CGM under the hood.

.....and the extra HP couldn't be ignored...

So wait...you guys are saying the LMR CAI gets almost 8 HP and 14TQ MORE than the Hennessey?

Am I reading that wrong?
