a/c condenser unit

Has anyone heard of rocks going trough the grill and piercing the condenser unit? Jut took my 2011 to the shop because the A/C wouldn't blow cold air and after 2 days in the shop they found 2 pin hole leaks in the condenser unit and say they were cause by rocks going through the grill and hitting the condenser unit. Keep in mind numerous dead bugs are smashed in there as well. And this is now not covered by warranty.

It is definitely possible, but if they are pin hole leaks I would really doubt it. Whenever I have had to replace a/c condensers from rocks there is usually a lot of damage, either to the grill or the condenser, not a pin hole.

This happened to me, but it happened because the intercooler for my supercharger was placed too close to the AC condenser. As a result, it wore a hole in the AC condenser and all the freon leaked out.

I`m about to replace mine for that very reason. I`m ordering from RockAuto and doing it myself. Seems to be a much cheaper option.
