ZL1 Exhaust Problems

Okay, I just had to share this. I have recently identified an issue with the exhaust on my new Z. I was getting ready to leave for work on Monday and my wife was in the garage as I started the Z. She gives me a curious look and says whats wrong with your car, it is making a buzzing noise....as you can imagine, my heart stopped.

I got out to see what she was talking about and sure enough there was a rattle near the back of the car. I started walking around pressing on different body panels and other parts trying to see where it was coming from. After a couple of minutes of this, I stepped back from the car and the location became evident.

THE EXHAUST NOTE WAS CAUSING THE METAL PANEL IN MY GARAGE DOOR TO VIBRATE...I think I laughed, mostly in relief for a good solid minute.

GM has outdone themselves, and IMO, every other camaro they have ever produced with this beauty. The drive is spectacular, the power is breathtaking, and now I understand the permagrin comments.

Just thought I would add a little levity to your day.

That is AWESOME! I agree that the stock exhaust on this car sounds amazing! It actually scared my wife the first time she started it up!

That exhaust rocks!
We have a parking garage at work and when I had my 87 IROC I used to goose it slightly in there which set off various car alarms. Make some NOISE! It will bring a smile to any auto enthusiast around.

Good gracious!

I was afraid that you really did have a problem!

The exhaust is something to be proud of -- our engineers worked long and hard to ensure you would have an exhaust that's unmistakeable - yet will still pass very stringent Federal (and some local) noise drive-by laws.

Each night as I leave the GM parking deck, I manage to set off several alarms --

Makes my grin even larger!
