Question Controlled Allocation

I've ordered my 2LT Black on Black with RS back in late May and I'm STILL at 1100 !! Waiting anxiously, I called hit up my dealer for an update and he told me I have 20 orders still ahead of me (I came in at about 35 of 35). But he did tell me that "Controlled Allocation" is over in August so they might be earning more Camaros.

So anyone know exactly what the hell "Controlled Allocation" is? And now that it's over what does that mean for yours truly?

Why not just cancel your order and use one of the dealers on here? Regardless of an allocation change your so far in line, your several months away more than likely from taking the first step. A few dealers on here post with ability to take weekly orders that will receive immediate allocation. That means you would automatically go to 2000 status and then hurry right along. This username, BeckyD@RodgersChevrolet seems to get a lot of orders and other people really reccomend her.

Yeah, I've been trying to find one in the area that accepts Suppliers disc, or even MSRP but that's slim to none in this area (my current dealer does MSRP). And he was very honest when I started; he did tell me he had no idea how soon, but he would guess 9months.

But anyhoo, honest or no honest I'm dying here and would love to have one by November. Any ideas on how to find these dealers that could get me to 2000 fast? I've been searching all over the forums, but I guess in the wrong places.

I personally would recommend Anna Bearinger at Sparta Chevy in Michigan, she's already got me a few cars for people looking NOW. MSRP and discounts. Oh so many unclaimed cars coming in, and available allocation.

You just tell her Camaro Scotty sent you.

Currently the allocation is based on two factors: (1) on your Chevrolet retail sales (both cars and trucks) over the twelve months ending August 2008; and (2) Mustang registrations for the twelve months ending June 2008 in your DMA. The guide covers anticipated Camaro Coupe production from the start of regular production (currently scheduled for mid-February 2009) through approximately Q3 2009. As always with a vehicle launch, these guide figures are not an assurance as to future production, but are issued to you only for planning purposes. Given the vagaries of scheduling production, and the possibility of subsequently developing constraints or other business factors, we cannot make any firm commitments at this early stage.
