Yeah im just not a fan of it, everyone really talked it way way up more than what it really is lol, its not that it does display this massive assortment of items its that it can display any of those items, but the catch is just one at a time...im not digging it, id delete that option on mine cause id never use it and id get annoyed at this akward projector implanted in what would otherwise be a beautiful dash
...thumb down for me, its not at all what everyone made it sound like |

I guess we will find out soon enogh how much that will add to the price of the car. My guess is $1000-1500.

The position of it can be adjusted, or it certainly was able to be in the Z06 that Eric Hall showed me before I decided to order a 2011 2SS/RS.
It looked pretty neat to me, but then I've never had a car with a HUD. |

Damn! There are a ton of HUD haters in here, it's an awesome feature to have! I'm gonna wait it out a bit longer, the camaro is only getting better!

OH MY GOD !!! THAT IS AWESOME from what I understand you cant get this installed in a 2010 camaro cuz its the windshield and the projector. This is just such a cool thing to have be in the car.

well.. unfortunately - even though i would love a HUD in my car and on the 5th gen i am going to buy...
I find this unimpressive. The vette one was way better in the 97 I saw - and this is just kinda... "meh". Not to rag on the General - I'm usually telling people not to take things so harshly and to wait..but I really hope they do more than just a flash-in-the-pan kind of thing. The HUD would be way more useful if it showed you speed and tach / gas at the same time, the way a fighter pilot gets to see multiple objects in his view on a HUD.. Ala: distractions aside - that is a lot more useful than just a single gagdet that I would have t o flip through. Part of my job as a Web Developer is to think about Interaction Design and I think that - while this is "cool" - it would provide one more distraction to get me into an accident as I find the "knob" to flip the display around to the desired control. Why not just put tach/gas/oil in the corners of the hub and use little lines drawn on the screen coming at you to simulate speed with a 000 readout below it. would give you a more functional display and allow for a safer experience - being that you wouldnt have to flip through the menu to get what you want and also alerting you and giving you more of an idea of your actual speed without having to glance at a number on the dash or stare at a number in front of you (they already do this in some areas with white lines painted on the road) Just a thought...

since fighters have advanced hud systems with complex computers and inputs that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. i think you are gonna have to settle

I love it. My parents Acadia has a HUD and it's great. Im just as much of a man driving with it as I am without it BTW...
I have to replace my windshield anyway, (which I am told is a requirement to retrofit this into the 2010) So I've got that part taken care of. I just hope the HUD unit itself is not too expensive. I look forward to having this. It would be cool if you could change the color of it too.
