driveshaft anyone?

i searched but i didnt find anything, so my question is:
is there a lighter driveshaft available for the V6 camaro.

my friend has a 2008 mustang GT and he bought a lighter driveshaft, and after the install (which took about an hour) his car seemed a hell of a lot faster.

I don't believe there is a lighter drive shaft for the v6 camaro....yet. However, Pfadt does make a carbon fiber drive shaft for the Corvette, so maybe if we ask them nicely, they could make one for us.

but for real a driveshaft is one of the easiest mods to do. if one were light, and durable enough with a good price range, it would be very popular.

2nd thread Ive seen on this topic. Isn't our drive shafts a 2 piece deal?

Anyways, would love to see something come of this, but I don't have much hope. :(

It sounds good, but even with a $2,000 CF driveshaft there is a gain but you can get a lot bigger gains doing stuff like lightweight wheels and tires.

Just my <.02

I took the stock 2 piece out of my 99 Camaro and replaced with an aluminum 1 piece out of a WS-6 Trans Am and made a huge difference. every joint=parasitic loss plus weight difference. I'd like to see someone come up with a cost efficient aluminum 1 piece for the 5th gen

In the article HP went from 302 to 313 with carbon fiber shaft @ 5000RPM.
Couldn't help but notice that is very similar to HP difference between the '10 and '11 LLT's.
Has somebody checked to see if there is a carbon fiber shaft on the 2011's instead of just a sticker?

the 2010 and the 2011 are exactly the same mechanically, they both have 312 hp, the V6 camaro was just certified for the 2011 model year, that all.
