Good choice, don't crank the contrast just yet allow the pixels to break in. Here is some stellar settings when your ready to max the set out.

Yea good choice I have a 46 inch plasma I bought 2 years ago its a Panasonic which I thought I would never buy but I have no regrets buying a plasma, I knew what I was missing the darker blacks make a ton of difference when watching movies in the dark or with a lot of dark in the movies.

one thing to think about is that the plasmas are fading away. At the consumer Electronic Show, there was only a couple of new plasmas on the market. The industry is moving everything to LED. Now the 4K Tv's are amazing and it might seem a bit early to buy one, becuase as menendez said broadcasts are only at 1080P.... But.... Netflix has announced that they play to stream 4K content by the fall and there are videos that are being distributed on youtube that are at 4K. Just something to think about.. Also i was not to keen on the whole wifi tv's, but after we just got our 70in Sony, i could not imagine life without the smart TV features.

For the 1080p vs 4k discussion. Unless you are sitting 6 feet away from your TV 4k its not worth it. Not to mention there isnt anything that supports it yet.
More reading based on the study. http://carltonbale.com/1080p-does-matter/ |

My visual acuity is better than average. But with my setup (7-8Ft. away from a 55) I guess I'm right in the zone of 4K. I'm one of those "close" sitters whos parents yelled at to get away from the TV cause it would ruin my eyes. Well, I'm still sitting close, and I still have my eyes. I really wish I could buy a OLED tv, but the prices are still hanging near the ridiculous side. |

Better viewing angle with plasma... and no lag... and I believe the 'blacks' are 'blacker' - not charcoal. At least to my eye. And plasma has a better ability to not bleed color - especially 'red'.

The downside to plasma is they give off a LOT of heat. I can live with it but you need to know before you buy one. Great picture quality.

Here is a link to a magazine I have been getting for 20 Years great reviews and I have gone with a few of there top picks and I have never been disappointed. Link to there top pick flat panels and link to there to pick Samsung.
http://www.soundandvision.com/conten...ks-flat-panels http://www.soundandvision.com/conten...3d-plasma-hdtv My recommendation get the cheapest biggest screen you can live with they all break none are safe be happy if you get 5 years out of it. |
