I don't know how you big guys did it. I'm 5'6 and 155 pounds and had to contort myself at strange angles to get mine installed. I'm glad I started doing yoga for about a year now but I was cursing the whole time trying to get that connector off. I finally just decided to remove the white clip completely and it came off no problems.

You know the old saying "where there's a will there's a way" I tried 3 times over the two days before I got that dam white/gray clip to lift up.

I read & viewed all the posts&pics and FINALLY using a combo of a small flat edge screwdriver to lift the right side up a little ( I couldn't get to the left side) AND a rubber gum pick to press in & lift the white/gray inner tab up a little. I then squeezed both sides of the white/gray clip and it finally lifted up Then I pressed on the black U shape tab with my left forefinger and pulled the harness up and off with all the strength of my right hand. ...I then called the FD to extract me from the car !

You all think that was hard, I hope you never try getting the controller off. I tried (to relocate a wire) but for the life of me I could not get it back off. The new one is tight as hell, maybe over some time in will break in a bit.

I tried to take mine out and "pain in the ass" is the nicest thing I would say to describe that experience. Forget about the little white/grey clip, that thing is never coming outta there!

Installed mine on Monday. Wow. Feels like a new car. Such a great mod. I was really surprised at the difference. Love the sp6-7 range. 9 a little too much in the 1st and second gear. Even with a 6 in the right mode you can feel it dump you back in the seat. I did try Eco for fun, and even though the throttle is really smooth and slow to get up to speed, the milage is great. I couldn't believe that I was getting 19 in the city.

Yeah I'm a big guy as well and it was a bit of a challenge installing but I did get it done.

Great job vitesse.

It will not matter if you have the car tuned, however if you have manipulated your stock throttle settings I would return them to stock/keep them stock, before you install your controller.

What's the difficulty in uninstall, tight plastic fitting? Would dielectric grease help?

Here's a good video showing what they do with the gas pedal and throttle body.

Notice when he demos the unit, when he first pushes the pedal after the setting change, there is a midway hesitation in the plate movement.

I don't think so. It's a combination of the position you have to lay in, the angle you can grab the plug, and the pressure it takes to push the small latch while having very little leverage to pull the plug out while holding the latch button in.

I've never really had issues getting the white locking clip loose. It's the little plastic tab you have to push in to unclip the whole plug from the socket that's difficult to hold in while wiggling the plug out that's a PITA. The little white clip just prevents the tab from being pushed in inadvertently--though it would be nearly impossible to do that, IMO.

It looks like there's no difference between the v6 vs v8 throttle controllers? It would be nice to buy one for the v6, then transfer it over to the v8 later.
