Exactly how I felt! I've saved that email forever now. It's one of those that you just can't hit the delete key on!

Well, I don't know if it's going to work out like I'm hoping, but my next goal is something that will allow me to comfortably launch Brandi HARD....
I am trying to work out a purchase of the Drive Shaft Shop Nine inch kit, 30 spline axles, pumpkin, and one piece drive shaft with all the trimmings, and the Tru Trac differential from Strange Engineering, in a 3:07 ratio. Time will tell... I need to get to the house and take some pics... I may work out a sale of my Harley to fund this, and several other goodies... roll cage, harness, electronic boost controller, multi step controller etc... I am opting for this gear ratio so, I can run the mile over 200 without shifting out of fifth gear, and I wont have to shift so quickly in the quarter... When it's all working together right now, I'm going into 4th just past the 1/8th mile, and I used to finish the quarter in 3rd at the red line, or just shifting into 4th.... and I still haven't done a full on launch yet.... I'm thinking the 3:07's will suit Brandi's power quite nicely... Opinions and comments are welcome and appreciated... I don't have all the answers, not even most of them... so... speak up...

You might want to talk to speedster about drive shafts and pumpkins. I just had this conversation with him... Just a suggestion. Your car is amazing.

I actually had the conversation a while back with speedy... Without coming off as a commercial, he had a lot of good information about G-Force... They do put out a great product, but I opted for the Drive Shaft shop stuff, and have no complaints... By staying with DSS now, I get a credit back on my current axles when I get the new ones with the higher spline count. Thanks for the nice comment on Brandi, other than the spoiler, I have only done performance mods... Well, the engine cover, but it's no longer on the car due to the underhood heat. I think it would be fine under there but I haven't put it back on yet... You and PQ and DangeruSS and lots of others have amazing looking cars with all the cosmetic mods, that are also really fast well performing cars with the blowers, the coil overs etc... I'll get there some day... I'm trying to get all the performance mods done then I'll get a custom paint job. After that, I'll just work on small improvements rather than whole hog changes... I have to be fair financially to my wife and our other desires as well...

Frank and the DSS crew are the best. That's cool that we can trade the DSS stuff for better DSS stuff. We talked 9" stuff for Pumpkin at C5F II, with the same trade in policy.

Well poop, I ran my schedule out to determine if I could make the Texas mile in the fall. Can't do it... I can be there Friday, but I leave to come back to brazil the next day... That would not allow time for test runs and tunes..., so, I'll have to hope the early spring run fits my schedule...
I'll keep diligently trying to get the car ready, and this does take some of the rush off... I'll certainly be able to go to H-town for the Texas Camaro Nationals... what a great crew there is down there.... Looking forward to it...

The transmission is out of the car, and should be headed to the transmission builder soon if it isn't already there...
Here are some pictures of the clutch... It appears pretty obvious that is hasn't been fully disengaging which would explain the difficulty of shifting from first to second. We'll get a handle on this and progress forward... It'll probably be reshimmed and allow for it to disengage with less pedal movement... ACT wants the clutch shipped back to them so they can look at it closer, but from the pictures, they say they don't see anything unusual... hmmm...

Looks a lot better than mine did when it came out.
I am sure they will set it up a lot better for you. Saw your car up on the lift the other day when I was buying some methanol from Corey. I was going to violate it... but it was up to high. hahaha |

ACT wants the clutch, so, Corey is going to ship it to them, 3 days, 1 day there, and three days back...
So, since I'm stuck down here for two extra days this hitch, VISA and annual physical(turn your head and cough) stuff, We should be well on track to it being ready when I get home... I sure hope so, A friend is coming down from wayyyyy up north, and I might need to give a demo ride.... No, it isn't Kyle this time...

In discussion with Corey, the guy working on my transmixer was asking some questions and is in the process of getting upgrade parts for it... There hasn't been any specific information about what parts, but... Hopefully I'll know something in the next week or so...!!!
The Clutch should ship out of ACT, I guessing on Monday or Tuesday, though I still have over a week here on the rig and 12 days until I arrive home... So, time isn't too pressing yet... I sure hope to be able to drive it to the Car show in San Antonio...

Cool stuff. Between the clutch and the tranny work Brandi will probably drive a whole lot better under load allowing full power shifts as you get used to it. Then watch your E.T.'s drop !! |
