they sell boiled peanuts in a can at the grocery store. Maybe you can find those out west?
And don't even get me started on the PE-can pie... we have one restaurant out here that makes one called Bourbon Pecan Pie. OMG its sinfully good! However the question of the day is, how many "southerners" out there have eaten Potted Possum.......

they don't sound good til you've had one (which usually leads to having much much more) We've got all the good stuff down here, we take food that's really good for you and make it taste better and not healthy at the same time . I remember the first time I had non southern green beans.... I bit into them and thought "Why are these things crunchy???" |

Dude I could eat my WEIGHT in boiled peanuts. We have been trying to find some raw ones to boil but because of the drought there isn't much around.

So the peanuts get soft, like beans? I'm trying to wrap my head around this. How do you eat them? Do they still have a shell?

Also, deep fried peanuts are excellent!
You eat those right in the shell. |

Yeah the peanut inside the shell gets soft. If the peanuts are real young the shell will be soft too. You can eat them shell and all. If the peanuts are more mature the shell will not get soft and you just peal the peanuts out and eat them. The more of them you eat ,the more you want.
