I got smoked by a 240SX with an LSX built motor at the strip my first time out. Granted, I didn't hook up and I only lost by .5 seconds but the car was a beast. To make matters worse for my ego, there was a girl driving and it had pink wheels!

I will say that this was my 2nd run EVER, and my 60' needs a LOT of work, but the 240 was a bad@ss built car.

Don't underestimate the 240SX.

A guy I talked to at the track recently said if the tranny on the 5.0 isnt warmed up you can get blocked out of third.

He won't tell you? Well if its JDM it's either gonna be an SR or an RB. either way the car is gonna be quick.

A little off topic, but a guy I know put a fully built LSX in his 240. He was spinning past fourth gear and when he put slicks on it things started breaking from torque.

I could dig up a bad video off of facebook.

Well if you can't beat him, at least at the end of the day you're driving a 5th gen Camaro and he's driving a 1995 Nissan. Lol

See if you can get an earful of his exhaust note when he takes off. The SR20's have a distinct throaty pitch under accel while the RB motors have a smoother peaky kind of tone. That's assuming his engine is what he says it is, Jaydee-emm, and not a KA-T.

Ya know, some days I'd rather prefer a lightweight S14.5 to my current land yacht. Hell, anything that I can appropriately heel-toe in would suffice.

I have often thought about putting a 416 LS3 with Mast heads, sleeper cam, and built and stalled 4L65E in a 240. Less than 3000lbs and more than 500rwhp sounds real yummy. I could then always turbo that combo for 800rwhp and destroy everything all while being a very sneaky and unsuspected sleeper. Only problem would be getting a big enough tire under that car to hold it all.

Really? Not I, but I'm not one to be hitting the track with my car. I just love the appearance of ours car too much to really desire any other vehicle.

Having said that, I'm sure it's a blast to drive, wouldn't care to own one, but I think it would be fun to drive.

I'd like to see the time slips from that run. Didn't look like a very fast run for a ZL1.

Nope. But pretty damn good for a 240

Yeah, mods makes car's fast. I never under estimate anyone that's modded.

I used to own an 02 WRX (along with an 04 STi). It had all the normal goodies with an upgraded turbo and supporting mods.
I would show up at the track and the GM crowd (LS1 z28s, TAs mostly) would make rude comment and talk smack.
Then I would line up and beat them all. Afterwards, they didn't have much to say.

I beat every ZO6 Vette and Dodge Viper I lined up next to at our local 1/8 mile. The track announcer used to get a kick out of it.

So never underestimate a car thats modded. No matter what it is.
