Let's see the finished product.

Took a break from the fog lights and got to the main bumper modification this weekend. T3 Ports with ACS Mesh inserts

Ive got to say, this Mod is a bit more difficult than i anticpated. thankfully my buddy that helped me runs a body shop.

Here is step one using the template peice. I did not like how cheap the paper was, took me almost 10min a side to get it centered correctly.




From here i used a black magic marker to draw the outline.

Then the cutting begins






From here we used a edging sander to make the fit perfect




Both of them cut out!


Test fitting one side


Now glueing them in place, wasnt that bad, pretty straight forward




Here is how i held everything in place, i used paint sticks and clamps, the paint sticks are pushing in on the back peice squishing everything together and the clamps helped hold everything while the adhesive cured.




Below is a picture showing the installation of the ACS Mesh, which sits right over the back of the port. Instead of using rivets that they gave us we used the same adhesive that we used to install the ports. Also in this photo you can see the Shims that were needed to make the ports sit nice and flush against the outside of the bumper leaving no gaps!!

Thanks guys, it definately is going to look awsome.

That first cut was horrible, i probably stood there with the cutter in my hand for about 5min before i could get enough balls to start cutting!!

The bumper is now back at my buddies garage where we are working on the fog lights, we are both busy the rest of the week but looks like we will be finishing it on monday night! So stay tuned

Fog Light Relocation Update...

Had to notch out the crush fram all the way for more room, plus makes things alot more easier.


Finished up the bracket, got it at the perfect angle!


This is how the brackets attached to the crush frame!


we drilled two holes and will be putting two bolts to hold it in place.

Tested them, DRL's are just resting in place right now.


And then Test Fitted on the car (DRL's are not attached) im waiting for more parts for other things before i put bumper fully back on car!






From here i will be taking everything off and painting the brackets black so they blend in better through the grille, and then this saturday i will be putting the car back together and hopefully get it out of the garage for its first start up since December

Test fitted the bumper again today with the fogs actually attached to the brackets and hooked up all the lights. And was very surprised that everything fit and worked. Will be taking it off and doing minor adjustments tomorrow and should be in one peice by the weekend

And it was a nice day yesterday and actually got the car out of hibernation. First time car had ran since december. Let it run for about and hour

And after a long winter Build the front bumper modifications and tail light mods are all complete. The car is back together and on the road!!
