Looks like they found a better way to do the mail slot delete rather than a filler piece.

From what I understand SLP has GM's blessing with everything they do in regards to the Camaro.SLP was a tier 1 supplier to GM for the fourth generation of Camaro and built all the fourth generation SS Camaro's that are on the road Today for GM.I also believe that SLP has or owns the rights to the ZL1 nameplate so it is theirs to use.No better company to pay tribute to such a great car than the guys at SLP.Believe me they are not ripping off a GM nameplate from the past. They work very closely with GM on everything.Remember you can order any SLP model from a GM dealer that is a recognised SLP dealer and their cars come with fully backed factory warranty.Nuf said.
If you feel the need to complain about people ripping off historic Camaro nameplates from the past take a look at the Yenko or Nickey cars.Great machines but absolutely nothing to do with or no historic ties to the originals.Yenko dealership closed in PA many many years ago even though I believe the original building is still standing where all the great cars came from.

Actually looks like a really really bad photoshop job , unless that square box where the mailslot was is from something on the backside of the page.

I'd be thrilled to own one, paying for it not so much.

You are talking way out of school here!

The same key people who helped create and establish the Nickey brand name, in Chevy Performance and racing are still with us today.

Don Swiatek and Ronnie Kaplan, just to name a couple.

Don was the one and only original Hi-Performance Manager for the dealership. He started woking at Nickey in 1952, his first job out of Highschool.

Every car that the factory would not build, which Nickey did custom build, went thru his department. His Boss Al Selig, the VP of Nickey, was also a key individual to this legacy, but he has since passed, RIP.

Ronnie Kaplan was the Crew Chief for the Famous (hall of fame) Road Race cars and hand built many of the special engines used in the race cars as well as other Nickey Super Cars.

Try and tell the People who where there that we are "ripping" anything off and you'll get a direct reply to the contrary.

They view what we are doing today, as a true continuation of what they started more than 40 years ago.

Please forgive the ass attitudes around here...I grow so tired of all of the negative. Thanks for building a great product.

Nickey - you guys get a pass as you still are "Nickey" Chevrolet. As for Yenko and the ZL1 name this can be considered a ripoff of the past fame as there is nothing more there except a name that is not even being used by the founders of it.

We built the only authorized, commemorative 5th generation 427 Yenko Camaro, to date.

The Yenko Sports Car Club, www.yenko.net , who has been the custodian of many of the Yenko Estate documents for almost 15 years, as well as Don's oldest Daughter, Lynn who is a Heart Dr. / Cardiologist and worked at the dealership with her Father and Grandparents approved and authorized the special project, Serial Number sYc 10001.

There is certainly nothing getting "ripped off" here either.

We are also under licence with the Fred Gibb family, to build Fred Gibb Commemorative 427 5th generation Camaros. Fred Gibb, Ed Cole, Vince Piggens and Dick Harrell all worked together in order to help create the original ZL1 427 Camaros.

If you don't know these names, and care to know more, then google them, in order to learn about the history of the Camaro as well Americana.

We are currently not a Chevrolet Dealership. The Nickey Chevrolet dealership closed in 1973. Nickey Chicago the Hi-Performance Super Car converter and speed shop was opened.

FYI, Nickey and Yenko worked together back in the 1960s on the Yenko "Stinger" project.

There is currently a media embargo on the ZL1 until 10/25 when the ZL1 will appear in AutoWeek magazine. On the 25th, we'll have all of the info posted online.

In the meanwhile, I do have the ZL1 Pilot car #001 in the Chevrolet exhibit at the OC Autoshow in Anaheim and those of you who signed up for the Enthusiast get together tonight will get a chance to see the car. Unfortunately, because of the media embargo, there is not much I can say about the car until AutoWeek releases the info first.

Looks like it's the magazine. I was able to see it in person at the OC auto show and I couldn't see any signs of the mail slot. It looks really good.
