Trunk bowtie removal

So I removed the bowtie on the trunk planned to leave it off but. I'm a little upset to say I noticed there a ding in the trunk lid behind were the bowtie was. It can only be seen from certain angles but bothers the hell out of me. Car only has 5k miles it's a 2013 2ss. My thoughts are they pushed the emblem on too hard from the factory? Anyone else have this issue or is it just the way the trunk metal is stamped? I'd post a pic but idk how to post pics yet

That would be the only time I would put the bowtie back on.

Be glad you don't have an early 2010, there's a hole behind the bow ties on those.

Mine's the same way. Very slight and only noticeable at certain angles. It bothered me a lot at first but the emblem bothers me more and I'm pretty sure I'm the only one that even notices it.

Makes me feel better to know I'm not the only one...

Actually you can kind of see it in the second pic of this thread from before I removed my spoiler.

Steelfemur mine is the same.it is hard to notice but being that it's on our cars...we know. I'm ocd about it so it bothers me. It almost looks as if it's just the way the metal was stamped like the couldn't get the body line perfect

Before this post I never noticed how the 2010-2013 models have such an angular deck lid. I am guessing that has something to do with the dent. I was able to replace my gold one for a black one with no issues but I have a 2015.

Get one painted to your car's color from Lupe and put it back on, JMO.
