Looking for an opinion...
Hello!
I used to own a 2010 2SS RS 6M - red jewel. Loved it! Traded when I had a kid. It's now 4 years later and I have a 2002 C5 Corvette 6M which I've modified and it's a riot. However, that little girl is 4 years old now and I miss my camaro and want to take her with me. I have two options: 1. 2015 1SS 1LE, white. 1700 miles 2. 2018 1SS 1LE, white. - new' I've driven the new SS and it's impressive. nimble, the interior is better and the LT1 is amazing. However, the 2018 is almost 20,000 more than the 2015. I guess what I'm saying is: for those of you with 5th Gen 1LE's, would you drop the extra coin or do you still love your cars? I am leaning toward the older car just because of the cost savings and that I remember my 2010 fondly as being a riot to drive. My Vette is great, but i want to haul more than one person. Thanks! |

Sounds to me you've already answered your own question. Get the '15 Camaro and put that 20k in a college savings for that little one.

2015 is a way cooler looking car. Stash the cash.

If theres only 1700 miles on the 15', heck you are getting a brand new car. (almost)I'm not getting rid of my 15' 1LE anytime soon. Much better looking than the 6 Gens IMO.

If you don't care about styling, get the new car.

I had 2 6th gens..an SS and ZL1....I'm looking to get back into a 5th gen. '13 thru '15 2SS/1LE....just waiting for the right one to come my way....the older ones are easier to work on, imho, and now I prefer them hands down.

i have a 15 and the main reason i bought it, is that it looks like a muscle care. i like the new ones but the appearance to me didn't do anything for me.

If hauling the little one around is a consideration, go with the 5. Otherwise see if you can track down a used 6 1LE. Seen them as low as 36 but that's few and far between. I've heard of people getting them new in the 39-40 range, but again it'd take some searching. Coming into this time of year though is a good time to start looking for a deal.
Bummer on the old car getting trashed. Checking up on your old love like that is like stalking an ex on Facebook. Nothing good ever comes of it.

Option 1. The car is not even broke in yet. Practically new for $20k less.
