As such, If they don't produce any Camaros after December 31, 2023 I don't think they can actually note any of them 2024's. My money in on them doing something like holding a single unit, or a small series of them "in process" (on paper really) until after the first and only completing their finalization after the first.
My guess, they will produce the Garage 56 cars in January.

Exactly what I was referring to in the event there are no Camaros built in 2024.

I'm curious, let's say things are as they were when you were with The General. Let's also say that production of the Camaro ends on 12/7/2023.

What happens to all of the vehicles that have already been sold as 2024 models? That's a lot of manufacturer, federal, state and local government paperwork to rebrand them as 2023 models. Not to mention the lawsuits that would surely follow.

The 24 Camaro is the “model year”. It has nothing to do with production year. Almost every vehicles model year starts 3-4 months prior to the actual year it is named after. There is no 23.5, no lawsuit, none of that.

...but sure there is regulation that prescribes the minimum overlap between calendar and model years, right? Otherwise what would prevent crazy manufacturers from starting 2029 or even 2099 model year production tomorrow?

Thing is there are rules for establishing the model year. One of those is that there has to be one January 1st in the run for that model year. So, theoretically speaking, if the car started production on January 2nd 2023 and ended production on December 31st 2024 the whole run could be classified as a 2024 model year. I am not sure how it is handled when the January 1st of the model year is not within the production window. So I can’t really answer PDXSSCE’s question because I’ve never seen that happen before. My best guess is some vehicles would be left incomplete until January and then they’d officially be completed, establishing 2024 as the model year because Jan. 1,2024 would be in the build window. There must be a simpler answer, but I sure don’t know what it would be.

In that has case, they could be completed, but not be "completed". Meaning, the cars are built, but the final documentation of completion (or whatever it is) isn't completed until January.

Sorry about the duplicate, now deleted post. I intended to update the comment.

New CE video from Chevrolet

New video from Chevrolet on the CE posted on YouTube: “Meet the design and engineering team behind the 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector Edition lineup as they take a spin and share their inspiration and passion of Camaro’s history and evolution.”

This video should really come with one of those disclaimers at the bottom of the screen:

* Performance engineering identical to 2017-2023 non-CE models

Sad that the iconic sixth gen did not get a deluxe sendoff like the Challenger did.

* Identical to every other Special Edition.... not a single one ever had performance engineering.

Wow this is their first investment in marketing of the CE, about 6-8 months late

Nice to hear the passion of the engineers involved. Chevy could have been putting out these types of videos throughout the 6gen's lifecycle.... Oh well. It will certainly be sad when the 6 gen goes out of production, however it really can't all be blamed on the actual car itself. Hope chevy realizes that...

That just reflects how special the standard performance engineering is across the sixth gen trims! (Trying to find a bright side here...)
