quick ported tb test on the dyno.

Had an opportunity to throw a ported TB on a bone stock 2012 2SS LS3 Sunday during a dyno day. Getting a baseline for future mods so I swapped it out real quick after two back to back stock passes, 379 and 376 respectfully. Got it swapped at made two more back to back pulls, 383 and 382.

Sounds like around a 5HP pickup on a stock motor. One with mods would probably be more.

That's without tuning? Just slapped it on and made the pull?

This validates what I have thought on ported TB's all along, it's not just the throttle response ,there's a couple of HP too . As has been said many times "BO KNOWS" . Best $150.00 I have spent on mods so far ,Thanks BO.

Yes. This was at a dyno day so the test was a quick one. About 5 minutes between the 2nd stock pull and the 1st ported TB pull.

I didn't feel much of a power increase. What I did feel is that my power came on much earlier. Of course the throttle response was better as well. Have you tried tuning the tb bo? How about a dyno graph?

Bo-did the stock 2012 have a catch can? What did the inside of the OE TB look like?

What I would like to see is a Vmax vs BO tb test ,but im sure the other sponsors would frown on such a test here .

If they stand behind their product, they should be in favor of a good test...

Even looking at it like from 376 to 383 which is 7rwhp that's still just 2% gain in rwhp and only the finely tuned butt dynos would feel that.
