The catch can is a must in the v6. There are threds on this and I for one can tell you first hand. I took off my intake and there was a ton of oil in the intake. When I say a ton I mean that I had to work for a wile with two rags to clean it up. I now have a catch can and I have only empty it once. I got all most a half inch in a Dixie cup that is a ton of oil. I really think all motors should have one if the venting in hooked up to the aircleaner intake tube.
Just my two cents.

Wish I never thought about the car, addicting. Said I would never build this like my others, o-well.

Right now I'm talking stroker motor and some FI with my builder. Thinking 440ci and either a F1 procharger or Turbo. After seeing his shop car with a Turbo just hit 1krwhp with ease I'm pointing that way.

So, my mods, probly the whole drivetrain.

Even if you drive your V-6 "hard", you'd really be lucky if you were to catch a few tablespoons of oil in the can, over the course of tens of thousands of miles and that isn't going to hurt anything. If it was, GM would have taken steps to make sure it was remedied

Save your money and buy something useful instead... or at least real pretty

Changed my oil the other week at 51% on dash..
This catch can is almost Half full..
I can imagine the V6 will do almost that much seeing it has to work that my harder..
My 1 cent.. Government took my other penny.

I'm wondering. How did you drive your car when it was brand new?
Did you drive it easy like the manual says or hard?

My freind and myself have catch cans. Barely anything in them. We both beat on the cars hard off the lot. I was told to by a few people to seat the rings the rest of the way or I could have blow by.

Just wondering.

I whomped on mine in the beginning, and I change my oil every 3K and I drive it like I stole it and I get 1/3 to 1/2 the can filled with the black goo. Did you guys get the breather too. I did and man my can makes a buzzing sound so you know it's seeing plenty of vapor. I also tried to get my can in a cool air stream to maximize vapor condensation. Apparently it worked.

Not we sure don't need another mustang on this planet, that's for sure.

Gutterball - just helped me turn my rear brake lights into sequencials for $20, works great.
