Anyone who believes that is dreaming or doesn't understand that a Z06 (heavy C7) won't be outperformed by a V6 (light) Camaro with half the power -but weighs slightly less

The C7 starts out slightly under the base ATS. But that is V8 to I4. The V6 ATS weighs nearly 200 lbs more than the C7, and a V8 would be an extra 100 or so lbs on top of that. So, LT1 to LT1 even the most optimistic estimate that I can think of gives a 200 lbs advantage to the Corvette, and it could be as much as 400 by my figurin'.

Very true regarding weight. I was focused more on a mid-engine C8 ZR1 elevating the Corvette to a level where a full on Camaro effort wouldn't bump against it. A 650 HP LT4 ZL1 would be possible

I really hope no one thinks that a light V6 6th gen Camaro will outperform a C7 Corvette!

Here's the weights of the C7 Corvette and the ATS Sedan and Coupe

C7 Corvette weight:
Stingray Coupe - (3,298)
Stingray Z51 - (3,444)
ZO6 - (3,524)

Cadillac ATS Sedan weight:
2.5L RWD / Auto – (3315)
2.0 Turbo RWD / Auto – (3373)
2.0 Turbo RWD / Man – (3403)
2.0 Turbo AWD / Auto – (3543)
3.6L RWD / Auto – (3461)
3.6L AWD / Auto – (3629)

Cadillac ATS Coupe Weight:
2.0L Turbo RWD/Auto - (3,411)
2.0L Turbo RWD/Man - (3,411)
2.0L Turbo AWD/ Auto - (3,571)
3.6L RWD/Auto - (3,530)
3.6L AWD/ Auto - (3,693)

Now unless something goes incredibly wrong, the 6th gen Camaro will lose weight. I'm thinking more around 200-250 lbs. That could put a Camaro with a LT1 in the 3,6xx lbs range. That is realistic to me. If it is more than that, even better!

For further reference, the weight of the 2015 Mustang
2.3L Ecoboost 4 Manual-3532 lbs
2.3L Ecoboost 4 Auto-3524 lbs
3.7L V6 Manual-3526 lbs
3.7L V6 Auto-3530 lbs
5.0L V8 Manual-3,705 lbs
5.0L V8 Auto-3,729 lbs

I think a realistic estimate for the 6th gen Camaro is that it won't gain or lose much weight. So I think a 6th gen with a LT1 will be around 3800 lbs., which is about where the 5th gen is, more or less.
