Motor Trend 3 car Comparison: Camaro SS 1LE, Mustang GT PP, Challenger R/T Scat Pack

The results are not surprising. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...ck_mustang_gt/

I'm not either. When it comes down to which car performs the best, the 1LE is going to win every time. The only thing I'm not thrilled about is that my car didn't come with the 1LE package

Confused, please help. I could have sworn that Motor Trend said before that the Stang was to harsh on the street. Now I read that the 1LE is. What gives, or am I blind?

Agreed, the results are not surprising but still impressive. Just wish chevy had put the lt1 in the 15s though. But then this would make it unfair.

no way the Mustang is harsher on the street than the 1LE.

they would have sold a lot if they did that. and it would make an instant collectors car.

They were saying that the suspension seemed harder and more tied down on the Mustang on the street and that it seemed soft on the track. 1LE should ride stiffer due to the rear mono shocks.

they seemed to think the Mustang was a bit too firm on the street, but still not enough for the track, whereas the Camaro is definitely too harsh to be a cruiser, but it works whenever you push it.

I'd have to agree. 1LE is about as rough as it gets on ride quality. I'd be surprised if the stang was worse.

I love the way it rides and don't mind the harshness. I hit a pot hole in my fourth gen yesterday and the rear end is still shaking. Bumps are felt hard but absorbed quickly with the 1LE.

I haven't driven a 1LE extensively (just around the block, basically) and while it was definitely firm and stiff, it's not harsh, and doesn't crash/get upset by bumps. It's no land yacht, but I think there's a difference between a stiff car and a car that rides badly. The 1LE is on the good side if that line.
