First Mock-up
The guy who makes these falls short on the quality of the work with cracks and paint issues. I'm going to find a way to make these strong and high quality so there's no issues. With matching factory Astro Silver paint too.
I'm thinking a couple hidden mounting screws and good plastic epoxy should do the trick for strength. Maybe use an adhesion promoter too. I think this is going to look great. I got some new ideas to mock-up before I settle on a final design. Then a test fit and finish work before paint.

Interestingly the gauge cluster bezel is not symmetrical. The right side with the tach is larger and sits at a different angle than the left. Not noticable when sitting behind the wheel. But take it out and put it on a flat surface and you immediately see it. Trying to get just the right angles so all factory lights and gauges are not blocked off. For now I have the builder putting the gauges on the A pillar. When this is done I'll move them into the bezel. Lots of Angles to work with.

Mock-up complete. The screws made it so strong that epoxy is not necessary. I will use a tiny bit just for cosmetic clean up. If you look close at the rear picture you can see how I beveled the edges so the pipe is tucked as far into the corner as possible. The screws are also marked to be cut so there will be no extra length sticking out back. A bunch of sanding to get done now. I'll have to bring it to the shop for its final test fit before paint. The cars goes to the builder in the morning
 The only things that wind up being obstructed are 0-10mph on the speedo and 8200rpm and up on the tach. Everything else is visible.

 . Not even kidding. Went to the auto body supply today and got the right silver and clearcoat. Tonight I'm going to try a different mount type I think.

He probably uses Bondo to shape. I found some cheap gauge pods on Ebay and bought them so I could try something similar. I think the pods were like $18 shipped 52mm too. Not too long either.

Using an old voltmeter to test fit both sides. 52mm gauge is a bit tight. I'll have to break out the Dremel and slowly take some material off until the gauge fits without forcing it to.

Yeah they could be a challenge painting like that. probably be better to paint before joining them. How are you going to route your connections?

Everything is sanded with 180 grit for primer. I already used a epoxy plastic adhesive to make the permanent bond. It's already incredibly strong. No flexing or loosening will happen. What you see here is an epoxy plastic putty which I am shaping and using for cosmetic finishing. After all the putty work is done I will do a finishing sanding and prime it up. Overall the project is moving along just fine. The only hard part was picking the right epoxy and putty for best results.
