Yawn...acting like they're breaking new ground.
Did that myself eons ago as a kid. Move along, kids, nothing to see here.  Starter motor actually cranked that puppy around with flashlight batteries in the battery box. Spark plugs were simply little red light bulbs. They didn't flash like on the box, they just lit up red. Kind of cheesy, but it was a good tool for learning how an N/A carb V8 works. (hint: Glue on metal nuts on the clear plastic block to hold the head screws was a royal PITA)
