Z28 For 2011?
I went to the Providence Auto Show Yesterday & the GM product specialist
said there was a Z28 coming out for 2011. can anyone confirm or elaborate. By the way they had a ZR1 in CGM & I am changing my order. I had ordered a 2SS/RS BLK M6. I have owned several black vehicles & love black, but after seeing the black camaro under the metal halide lights of the show with all the "swirls" sitting right next to the vet with the CGM. DONE! |

There is no confirmation of a Z28. There is no evidence that GM is working on a Z28 right now.

That "GM Product specialist" has no idea what he or she is talking about...
Until GM can earn some extra money to fund a program like the Z28, don't expect to see one for a few years.

Please for the love of God, stop posting crap about the z-28.....
GM cant even make up their mind on when they can start production on the Camaro, let alone when/if they are making a z-28, IROC, etc. |

Cut the OP a little slack. When a product specialist at an autoshow representing GM directly makes mention of a Z28, that carries some weight. It certainly means more than something your dealer might say (thread-jacking side rant, not related to anything mentioned on this thread: I'm really getting tired of people referring to dealerships as though they were part of GM and employees at dealerships as though they were GM employees. They are not. Dealerships are independent companies that have a franchise agreement with GM. /rant). I know we're all tired of theories and arguments about the Z28, but I think all signs make it a matter of "when" and "in what form" rather than "if". I don't think what the product specialist said means anything (probably misspoke or went off rumors or unauthorized information) but it is worth mentioning.

All manufacturers of cars, boats, bikes, sleds, computers, etc hold something back for later. This is a fact of life. If this is a big deal, sit on the bench & watch. I prefer to play now & pay again later to trade up to the then , latest & greatest.
The Camaro is a great value...be happy with what you are getting this year, whether it is a month late or not. Technically 2010s normally wouldn't come out until fall anyway! |

I wouldn't be suprised to see an LS7 Z28 Camaro a couple years from now.
But for now, I just want to see the SS's arrive. |

i'm really tired of hearing all this Z28 business... GM is gonna get back on their feet before spending more money developing a kill-all car. this is a brand-new vehicle from the ground up, so it's gonna take some time to get all the kinks worked out as is, so they're gonna work on that first, as well. when the economy turns back around, and there's more of a market for a car like that, they'll probably jump right in (assuming their finances are back in order). unti then, can we just let this go...PLEASE?
