Not my cup 'o tea at all, but I agree that the color appearance depends on the lighting and angle. I'm sure the paint is fine.

I think it would look better semi gloss black. I'd be pretty unhappy if the color didn't match from all angles. Think about it, everything else on the car does. If your happy, that's all that counts....but I imagine you must not be picky.

Excuse me?
I appreciate everyone's comments and feedback when it's constructive and take the others with a shrug. It appears you're not familiar with this particular color, if you would take the time to look at another red jewel Camaro you'd see that there is a large color shift depending on the angles you're looking and the way the light hits the various curves, angles, and flat sections. That's one of the main reasons I bought this color instead of a white is white or black is black (no offense folks) monochromatic finish. Contrary to what you may think (not that it matters in the grand scheme of things) it's a car meant to be driven, wasn't perfect when it rolled off the line, and no matter how hard you try to make it so, it won't be perfect. And lastly, I am past picky, I am fastidious!

Sorry do not agree with the nay Sayers. The stock black plastic piece is cheap and incomplete looking. This finishes the car at the rear.

on the yellow car above it DOES complete the rear and look very clean. as stated above its gotta be the angles the camera captures with the red jewel..so in person im assuming its quite clean like the yellow car. i was thinking about looking into this mod a few weeks ago, but after seeing them installed i think i will keep what i have for now. just curious though, whats the pricing on these?

There is a huge color shift with some shades, I'd take the MPD1 smooth panel over stock for sure. I'm gonna experiment with something maybe if I decide to stay with the car. More simplified that just tucks up in the center.

It's just the lighting. I personally like the strakes on the original and had mine painted to match the black on my car so it has a smooth finish. This is cool though.

Looks Good
Looks good. The RJT changes hues based on angle and color of the reflective source.
Some like the MPD1 smooth valence, others don't. Doesn't bother us, this is how we wanted our car to look when we received it in November, 2009.
