Apparently if the driver moves it with his hands, it can cause collisions and injuries.

I have only had my 14 1LE a couple month and not my DD. But I was cruising in it the other day and noticed the leather dealer tag on the keychain brushing my leg, I had shorts on. I have nothing else on the key ring, the dealer just put a ring on the key with their little leather advertising tag. I was surprised by this but I think it was while cruise control was on and I had pulled my foot back on the floorboard causing my knee to be bent more and closer to the key. I don't see myself swapping out my keys. I will remove the ring so it is just the flip key alone. Knowing this "could" be an issue, I will just be more aware and careful of it.

Ignition issues... I've switched mine off twice while driving and reaching for the radio.

You're peeing in the wrong tree. Look at my post again.

I boldfaced "made at home depot". This should indicate to you I am addressing that part of the quote.

I'm not asking for a source for the price of the key we already have. I am asking about the bullshit statement about the replacement keys that nobody has actually seen yet being made "at home depot".

I've turned mine off twice while reaching for the radio. No, I won't be taking mine in.

Don't know if anyone else went and did this but I did yesterday. Got in my Camaro, started it up and started shaking the key pretty well. The engine didn't sputter, turn off or do anything else weird. The only thing that causes it to turn off is it's design, a counter-clockwise turn, like any other key ignition.

Not getting this recall done.

Do you have cave man hands or are you blind? I'm not being an ass, I'm serious.... how in blue hell do you switch the car off while reaching for the radio? The radio is nowhere close to the ignition, plus all these cars have steering wheel mounted audio controls.

Do you always drive with your leg completely extended?

I'm going to guess by your smaller feet and extended legs that you are a smallish guy. So all rules governing ignition switches must be based off of how you particularly like to drive with the seat all the way back and leg extended driving with your tippy toes?

My leg, with seat pushed back ends up closer to in between the volume button and the climate controls. As a matter of fact I have many times accidentally changed the air flow with my knee while driving.

How?

My right leg doesn't go up anywhere close to the steering wheel and I have long legs. In order to reproduce this "error" I had to use my hand and actively turn the key in it's intended, like every other key ignition, purpose.

Everybody complains how they have to sit in with their seat all the way back to the back seat but me at 6'0" is not even close to the key. My friend at 6'4" isn't even close to the key. Either people don't really have their seat pushed all the way back to the back seat, or are doing something weird while driving that I can't reproduce.
