Last Friday I painted those covers on the corners of the trunk. Kept the side facing the back of the car black so it wouldn't blend into my tail light bezels.

Also painted the CAI tube.

All that booty!

Lookin' pretty slick at the car show this past Saturday.

Got home and installed this lower billet overlay. I like it okay. I think I'll like it more when I get the new upper grille installed.

So was gonna head to a car show this past Saturday and ended up being too ill to go. Felt better in the afternoon so went for a drive. Took these photos...

Then later that evening went on a cruise with police escort (I guess you could call it a car parade) in a nearby town. Was making a right hand turn and *BANG*. No idea what I hit but no one else did. Chipped my right rear and knocked it out of alignment. Set up a claim with allstate but a local body shop got everything fixed for $400 which is under my deductible. I know it looks like I curbed it but there's just no way. A guy behind me said he noticed something on the side of the road and moved out to miss it. Here's the wheel damage...

IMG_20180519_183302 by J N, on Flickr

Anyway, it's all fixed now. Um I don't have a photo (why?) but they did and amazing job. You can't even tell it was chipped.

So here's a sneak peak at what I'm working on now. Remember that stuff that needed to be painted?

More soon!

Finally got some goodies put on. Haven't put the ZL1 grill on yet. I'll get around to it. Anyway, these pics don't do it justice, IMO. Also, I'm going to have to either change my diffuser or at the very least paint it. It's just not working considering how far around those 3dcarbon spats go. Probably plasti-dip it white first to see what it looks like and go from there. On the whole though, I love the look and the ACS splitter looks way better than I thought it would.

Easy install on all these parts. The old rockers had some clips broken taking them off. Just next to impossible not to. Only trouble I had putting the ZL1 rockers on was I knocked a lower clip and like to have never got in back in there in the right spot because I couldn't see what I was doing under the car. Other than that - a breeze. The 3d carbon spats weren't difficult either. They have a tab on them that matches up with a bolt hole in the diffuser. Then just a matter of applying 3m tape and bolting up a quick clip inside the wheel well.
The ACS splitter was NOT a 15 minute install like they advertise. Took me probably about an hour and a half. Hardest part was putting bolts in near the center. You have to pull down the fascia under the radiator support and there's not a lot of room to get a hand in there. Instructions say you can't install the entire rubber guard back on the bottom - they want you to cut the ends off. Nah, just got some more bolts, cut off the tab that folds over on the end of guard and good to go.
Lastly, install some ZL1 Addons rock guards. The fronts were no problem at all. The rears however, due to the spats, took some extra time. I had to make some new mounting holes. Still there is a gap between the fender and the guards just above the spats because the spats wrap around into the wheel well. This is unfortunate but also there's not much I can do to fix it right now. I'll try to figure something out in the future.

Took the cursive script off the side and went back to standard block lettering. Added EmblemPros Team LFX badges.

Cut off stock exhaust from the cats back. 2.5" pipe, Magnaflow 11386 resonated x, Jones Full Boar Racing mufflers, and quad 4" tips. Added the 1LE diffuser rather than cutting my old one.

A couple of vids for ya...

Cold start:

Quick throttle burp passing by:

A blurry photo taken (potato cam!) while I was mowing the yard and had moved the car to my neighbor's driveway.

Grabbed this on Saturday...
Not much competition in that class unfortunately. As in none. Whatever. Not a participation trophy kinda person but it does look good next to the others that I legit won.

I like your build! I have done a couple of the same things you have (quad tips, painted bowties, cai, etc) but my car doesn't look nearly as good as yours. You keepin' us LFX owners proud :')

Thanks all. I appreciate it.

Got Oracle ghosted side markers to install this weekend. Also grabbed a 4teen heat extractor from ACS. I'll have a buddy of mine cut the hood for it. I'm not doing that!
